epup stores core reading and game data on your device. If you choose to use cloud features, we may process account data such as user ID, email address, sign-in provider identifiers, and sync metadata needed to provide backup, restore, and account security.
If you use social features, we process profile data such as username, friend code, club membership, relationship state, and optional reading-presence sharing. We also process block lists and moderation reports that users submit for trust and safety operations.
Your reading habits, stats, and pet data are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app will delete this data unless you have manually exported a save file.
If you enable notifications, epup requests notification permission and may process notification-related metadata, such as permission status and push token, to deliver reminders and feature notifications.
If you link an account, authentication is handled through our backend providers (for example, email/password and supported federated sign-in providers). We use this data only to support sign-in, account security, and cloud sync functionality.
Depending on features you use, epup may request permissions such as notifications, camera access (for friend code scanning), and photo library access (for profile images). You can control permissions through your device settings.
epup uses third-party services such as Firebase (authentication and cloud database) and Expo notifications infrastructure to operate key features. The app may also connect to third-party endpoints at your request, such as Project Gutenberg/Gutendex for public-domain books, dictionary services for definitions, and web search links you choose to open.
Local data is retained on your device until you remove the app data, uninstall the app, or reset data in-app. Cloud account and social data are retained while your account is active and may be removed when you delete your cloud account, subject to technical and legal requirements.
You can avoid cloud storage by not linking an online account. You may export local data for backup, adjust notification and device permissions in system settings, and request account deletion from within the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date and, when appropriate, through in-app notice.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. When you create or link an account (including email/password or supported sign-in providers), you confirm the details you provide are accurate and that you agree to these Terms.
epup stores reading and pet/game data locally on your device by default. Optional cloud and social features may store account, profile, and sync data remotely to support backup, restore, moderation, and cross-device usage.
Linking an account may attach your local progress to a cloud account. In conflict scenarios, cloud data may be overwritten by the local data from the linking device as explained in the app. You should export important data before linking, importing, or deleting an account.
You are responsible for the EPUB files and content you import or access through epup. epup is a reading tool and does not claim ownership of third-party content. You must have the right to use content you import.
You agree not to misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with app operation. We may limit or terminate access for abuse, fraud, or behavior that harms the app or other users.
Social features may allow user-generated profile and club content. You can block or report users and clubs in-app. We may review submitted reports and take enforcement actions, including content removal or account restrictions, when policy violations are detected.
epup does not currently offer subscriptions or real-money in-app purchases. We may introduce paid features, subscriptions, or advertisements in future versions. If we do, applicable pricing and terms will be shown in-app before any purchase.
epup relies on third-party platforms to operate key functionality, such as authentication, cloud database/sync, notifications delivery, and optional external content requests. Your use of those services may also be subject to the terms and policies of those providers.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of epup after updates become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY.
